Il Barboncino: un cane nobile

The Poodle: a noble dog

The Poodle is one of the noblest dog breeds. In fact, as we have also seen in a previous article Your dogs love to swim , the poodle breed dates back to the 15th century when the nobles used it as a companion dog, given its elegant bearing it lent itself to the aristocratic salons of the time. Even his walk, which seems even haughty, has made him the perfect dog for the noble families of half of Europe for many years.

The origin of the poodle is attributed to France, but there are still doubts about the accuracy of this information and even today Germany and Italy are competing for the origins of this breed.

Physical characteristics of the poodle:

Poodles have different sizes depending on the size they belong to: t oy, dwarf, medium and large.

The height of the toy ranges from 23 to 28 cm at the withers and weighs between 4 and 7 kg. The dwarf measures 28-35 cm and weighs 6/7 kg. The medium is 35 to 45 cm tall and weighs between 10 and 12 kg, while the large can reach 60 cm in height at the withers and weigh up to 25 kg.

The color of the hair, which is thick and curled, ranges from white to black, also passing through colors such as fawn red and apricot

Character of the poodle:

The Poodle is very active and joyful. She loves to play and as we have seen she also loves swimming. Likes to run and walk.

It is also perfect for younger children because it is never aggressive and is very sociable.

He is a very intelligent and loyal dog.

In short, it seems to have no flaws! The only drawback it might have is to bark a lot when there are guests at home, so much so that it becomes annoying. Nothing serious, just a few training lessons and everything falls into place.

And you? Have you ever had a poodle? Tell us your experience!
